VTDC provides a variety of programs. The largest of their programs are the vocational and employment focused programs. VTDC also contracts with school districts to provide the opportunity for students with IEPs to access vocational services in a program called “Student Employer Alliance” (SEA). Other programs provided through VTDC include: Pre-Vocational Centers, Adult Training Facilities, Supported Employment, Vocational Evaluation, Community Based Work Assessments, Transitional Employment, Home and Community Habilitation, and a Mental Health Drop In Center.
The purpose of JCARC is to advocate for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families by increasing awareness and developing services. JCARC hosts the “Annual Run or Walk for Someone Special,” Camp Friendship, an adult recreation and respite club, and much more.
OVR provides vocational rehabilitation services to people with disabilities. They aim to help individuals prepare for and acquire and maintain employment. An OVR counselor helps the individual select goals, services, and service providers. An Individualizes Plan for Employment (IPE) is developed. Some services provided through OVR may require a Financial Needs Test (FNT).
The CGC is a private outpatient mental health clinic. Their services for children and families include the student assistance program, children’s case management service, early intervention services, psychiatric services, and outpatient and individual group therapy. Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is available in DuBois. Another service which is available in Clearfield county is Family based services which is designed to help families of children with emotional or behavioral problems receive services in their home. These are just some examples of the services the CGC provides.
Cen-Clear has developed programs which include: Early Head Start, Early Intervention, Head Start, the Head Start Child Care Partnership, Family Centers, behavioral health services for children and their families, recreation services, and other family support services. Many of the services available through Cen-Clear are provided in collaboration with other service providers. Other agencies include: Office of Children/Youth and Family Services, Mental Health/Mental Retardation programs, the Children's Aid Society, and school districts, as well as several child care providers.
One of the goals of Skills is to help people with disabilities find employment. Skills works with individuals to find employment based of their strengths and interests. Skills has an adult autism service branch which gives behavior supports through in-home and in-community services. Skills also has child and adolescent programs, community homes, housing support, home/community habitation services, and companion services. Habitation services provide education while companion services allow for increased independence and safety.
The mission of HGAC provides post-secondary education. The support services available range from vocational evaluation and career exploration to independent living skills. HGAC is located on the campus of the Commonwealth Technical Institute. A variety of educational programs are available such as culinary arts, building maintenance, business retail sales, office technology, and more.
Easter Seals camps provides a variety of recreational programs for children and adults with disabilities. They also provide early intervention services and autism services. The vocational development department offers employment and training.
Soaring Heights Autism Academy (SHS) is operated by PHC and has four locations. SHS addresses the needs of students with autism who are unsuccessful in the public school environment with the goal of reintegrating students back into their home school district. In addition to its academic programs, PHC also offers mental health treatment for children and adults.
An intermediate unit is an educational service agency that provides services in partnership with schools and communities. CIU offers a preschool early intervention program which may include: home based teacher/therapists, services provided by a teacher/therapist in a child’s preschool, transportation, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech/language services, and assistive technology services.
